Our 4 Days in New York City

New York for me is like a brand image of USA, from fashion to finance everything is here.As a tourist beautiful sites are treat for eyes and NYC truly understands it.So this one is about what we did when we had '4 days in NYC'. We planned our trip during long weekend and visited many iconic sites. After overnight journey from Richmond to new York, we were ready with our plan on a sunny NYC morning.

DAY 1 THURSDAY
  • Statue of Liberty (free upgrade) & Ellis Island (4/5) :  We purchased our ferry tickets from 'Castle Clinton' in battery park around 8:30 am.Pedestal access has no extra charge but are limited in numbers, we reached early got those.Crown access are sold out months before through prior reservation.Ellis Island is also included in ferry ticket, so you can visit museum of immigration on historic Ellis Island.
  • Charging Bull (1/5) : Also called Wall Street Bull is pretty famous among tourist and you can see crowd gathered around it clicking pictures. You wont find any queue for taking the photograph, it will be more about which part of Bull will you be able to click in the crowd and get done with it.Its really crowded and overrated.
  • New York Stock Exchang

  • Wall Street (3/5) : Also the financial center of the world. New York stock exchange, federal hall are must see for its detail architecture.
  • Trinity Church (4/5) : Its beautiful church and very near to Wall Street. The entrance door is so grand and beautifully designed.Peaceful time in church will make you relax you for sure.

DAY 2 FRIDAY
  • Central Park (5/5) : What I like most about this huge rectangle shaped park is how its so green right in the mid of skyscrapers. Best way is to bike around the park and explore it. Central Park has many attraction as it has been used in many famous films. It has free entry no tickets that so cool right?!
  • Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) (3.5/5) : Free Friday Night ticket! (timing-2:30 pm) what else can I say. Its one of the popular museum and few miles away from central park easy walk and another free entry.
  • Time Square (5/5) : It has been our hit base by the end of all site seeing. Crowded colorful & beautiful bright place true definition of new York city.

DAY 3 SATURDAY
  • Broadway Show (5/5) : There are many shows on Broadway and if you are visiting for the first time its must be in your list.We wanted to watch 'The Lion King' but it was house full so we chose 'Chicago the musical' and it was fabulous. It was all glitter and sparkles with excellent touch of comedy. Every song will be played in your mind once you go out of the theater. And about  The Lion King we could not resist our self when we saw its coming to Richmond and about this we have posted a blog check the link : The Lion King. Both the shows are the longest running musical in Broadway.
  • Top of the Rock Rockefeller Center or Empire State Building (4/5): We decide to go to Rockefeller center building because you can see Empire State Building from there and the best view of central park surrounded by the skyscraper. Well its more or less same view from either building you can do both also just be ready to pay!

DAY 4 SUNDAY
  • American Museum of Natural History (5/5): This place is same from the movie 'Night in the museum'. The exhibits are very well define if you are a person in to science or not you will  still be fascinated by it, from dinosaur fossil to human origin there is everything. This will take 3-4 hour minimum to explore the place.Entry fee here is suggestive fee.
  • Brooklyn Bridge & Park (5/5) : Evening walk is beautiful in this place and park under the bridge is attractive and gives the great view of Brooklyn bridge and Manhattan bridge.

On the very Sunday evening we had our bus to catch and next day Monday morning we were back to home sweet home. This is all what we did in our 4 days in NYC which was super holidays!
